Vital business data stored on paper or electronic media can not last without proper air treatment. The chemical reactions that cause deterioration speed up with hot temperatures. High relative humidity provides the moisture needed for harmful chemical reactions and supports mold and insect growth in hot temperatures. This article presents pollution control strategies and explains how to condition air for safe storage of records, with special attention paid to electronic media.
