Full Description

Unfortunately, the case history of the frost heaved concrete floor at this frozen food distribution warehouse is not uncommon. This facility originally installed an ambient air ventilating system ... commonly referred to as a natural vent system. A close look at the original construction, a scrutiny of this facility's maintenance and a look at how this problem was solved will provide some pointers on how to avoid frost heave problems for some facilities. This paper will also demonstrate the effectiveness of a simple method of thawing out a floor and returning the facility to normal operation when a natural air vent system fails.
